A deep warm brown that makes washes similar to the color seen in early sepia-toned photography. The name sepia comes from the Latin word for cuttlefish, saepiae. Antique sepias were made from cuttlefish ink. Today, the pigments used to create this color are derived from iron oxides and carbon black pigments.
